The oeuvre of Hanna Rudzka-Cybisowa is closely connected with Polish corism. The artist began her studies in painting at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts under Miłosz Kotarbiński. Then she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow - initially with Ignacy Pienkowski, and from 1923 with Jozef Pankiewicz. In 1924 she went to Paris with a group of colleagues forming the so-called Paris Committee (abbreviated to "KP"; hence the group's name "Kapists"). In 1931 she returned to Poland and settled in Cracow with her husband Jan Cybis. In the same year she participated in the First Exhibition of the Capists in Warsaw, and in 1933 she traveled again to France, where she had a solo exhibition at Galerie Renaissance. In 1937, she traveled to Italy. During the war, she organized the Self-Advocacy Fellowship at the Artists' House in Cracow. In 1945, she became the first woman in the history of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow to become a professor at the academy. She painted primarily landscapes and still lifes, and less frequently, portraits.
