Janusz Lewandowski (Rokicie near Plock 1937- Warsaw 2022)- painter. Studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in the studio of Prof. Artur Nacht-Samborski. He received his diploma in 1964. Participant of many plein-airs and symposiums, honored with numerous awards and distinctions, including an award in the competition "Metaphor in Painting. "Metaphor in urban painting in Radom", the Warsaw Mayor's Award, the "Artists in the International Year of the Child" award at Zachęta, the Polish-Japanese Miyauchi Award, the Wladyslaw Hasior Award. In 2017, he received the Kazimierz Ostrowski Award for outstanding achievements in painting, primarily for his creative continuation of Polish landscape painting from its most brilliant period, that is, the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
