Leszek Sokół (born in Warsaw, 1955) graduated from the Warsaw High School of Fine Arts; in 1983 he received his diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Faculty of Interior Design. After graduation, he worked in graphic design. Since the 1980s, fascinated by 17th-century Dutch painting, he has been painting still lifes. In the early 1990s, he devoted himself to metaphysical realism. In 2005, he was awarded a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture. His works have been presented in solo exhibitions at home and abroad. In particular, exhibitions in Germany in the 1990s brought success.
