Painter, educator. He was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under the direction of J. Pankiewicz. In 1912 he went to Paris, visiting Vienna and Venice on the way. During World War I he stayed in Spain. In the interwar period he lived in Paris and Orcel. From 1937 to 1940 he headed the Paris branch of the Academy of Fine Arts. He often exhibited in Parisian Salons, and also sent paintings to the country, including exhibitions of the Artists' Guild "Jednoróg". In 1934 he had a solo exhibition at Warsaw's Institute of Art Propaganda. After World War II, he continued to live in Orcel, and the Provençal landscape became the main theme of his paintings, shaped under the influence of Pankiewicz, his fascination with Cezanne and color - at first subdued, later more saturated and intense, juxtaposed in patches emphasized with varied texture. In addition to landscapes, he painted portraits, still lifes and figural compositions. In France, he used the surname Zawado, which is how he signed his paintings.
