Photo taken at the Drake Hotel in New York, en face. According to the author's information, she took several series of photos of her father in the Drake Hotel suite, just as this photo became more widely used by the pianist when he gave his autographed likeness to someone upon request. On the same day, the author took a photo of the pianist at the piano, close-up profiles and several other portraits.

Daughter of prominent pianist Artur Rubinstein and Aniela née Mlynarska. The family lived in Paris until 1939, then moved to the US, where Eva continued her ballet studies. She performed as a dancer and actress on Broadway stages. After years devoted to family life, she turned to photography in 1968. Initially treating it commercially, over time she devoted herself to artistic creation, in which she achieved considerable success. She had many exhibitions in galleries around the world, and published several albums, including one dedicated to her father's hometown: _x0084_Lodz. Brief Encounters_x0094_ (1998). She is one of the most famous and respected contemporary photographers.
