Friedrich Joseph Kolb - one of the most famous goldsmiths active in St. Petersburg. Born in Würzburg, he came to St. Petersburg in 1793. He apprenticed with Christoph Friedrich von Mertz and became a master in 1806. He held the title of supplier to the imperial court. He was active until 1826.
