Lukasz Patelczyk's paintings are built on the principle of contrast between classical landscape painting and abstraction. In a collection of works presented in 2021 at the monographic exhibition The Coexistence at New York's Slag Gallery, the artist experiments with composition, trying to achieve the effect of looking at the landscape through stained glass.

The use of a limited range of colors, the combination of a view of boundless nature with non-representational painting, and the gradual gradation of colors influence the creation of an interesting hybrid. As Karolina Majewska-Güde points out, the structural repetition happening within each painting is the result of the juxtaposition of two contrasting elements: landscape and abstract composition; the photo-realistic representation of nature with the disciplined shape of the stain. Both surfaces are conceptually and technically closed. Patelczyk repetitively demonstrates his competence as a painter. On the other hand - he performs a certain custom, convention, or mannerism. Łukasz Patelczyk (Wejherowo 1986 - lives in Warsaw and Bydgoszcz) - graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, received his diploma in 2012 in the studio of Prof. Teresa Miszkin and the studio of Prof. Witoslaw Czerwonka. In painting, he combines two orders: landscape and geometric abstraction. He applies geometric figures to the landscapes he paints, sometimes only dots or lines, which, according to the artist, are evidence of human presence, his interference with the environment.Art collectors and critics appreciate the artist's imagination, consistency and high-class technique. Patelczyk is the winner of the special prize of the Artistic Journey of Hestia 2011 competition and the Bielska Jesień 2015 Painting Biennale - the prize of the editors of "Notes Na 6 Tygodni", the winner of the first place in the Compass of Young Art 2020 ex aequo with Agata Kus. Lukasz Patelczyk's works are among others in the collection of the National Museum in Gdansk.
