Wieslaw Rosocha (Sokolow Podlaski 1945 - Warsaw 2020) studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1969-1974, graduating with honors in the poster studio of Prof. Henryk Tomaszewski. From 1975-1978 he was an assistant in the painting studio of Prof. Teresa Pągowska at his home department. He worked on posters, drawing, applied graphics, book and press illustration. Since the 1970s, he has collaborated with many publishing houses (including Czytelnik, PIW, Świat Książki), magazines ("Szpilki", "Literatura") and newspapers ("Rzeczpospolita", supplement "Rzecz o książkach", Gazeta Wyborcza magazine). He has presented his solo exhibitions at home and abroad, including Tokyo 1995, Helsinki 2001, Budapest 2004, and participated in many group exhibitions, including successive editions of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw. He is the recipient of numerous awards in the field of illustration, including several times the PTWK award in competitions for the Most Beautiful Book of the Year (Warsaw 1980, 1985); a distinction at the IBA International Exhibition of Editorial Art (Leipzig 1982), the Prize of the Minister of Culture and Art for the best published book (1986), the Grand Prix at the Biennale of European Illustration (Aki-Town, Japan 2001). He has also received numerous awards for his posters, including a gold medal for a cultural poster at the 6th Lahti Biennale 1985, a bronze medal at the 3rd Toyama Poster Triennale 1991, a gold medal at the 6th Art Directors Club International Exhibition in New York 1992, the Józef Mroszczak Honorary Award at the 15th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw 1996, a bronze medal at the Polish Poster Biennale in Katowice 1997.
