Alfred Terlecki studied under Leon Wyczółkowski and Józef Mehoffer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow between 1906 and 1917. In the period 1915-1919, he taught drawing at schools in Zakopane. He was a member of the Zachęta Group and the ZPAP.
He painted mainly decoratively stylized landscapes of the Tatra Mountains, including many of the surroundings of Morskie Oko or Hala Gąsienicowa. He also painted views of Cracow, portraits and interiors. He was involved in woodcuts. The artist's works can be found, among others, in the National Museums of Warsaw and Cracow; but the largest group of them is held by the Tatra Museum in Zakopane.
