Hermann Werner (Samswegen 1816 - Düsseldorf 1905) - studied at the Academy in Düsseldorf (1838-1840), later continued his studies with the famous animalist Carl Steffeck in Berlin. In 1862 he settled in Düsseldorf. He was a member of the Malkoste artists' association. His works are among others in the Hermitage collection.
