Austrian landscape and marine painter active in Vienna and, from 1869, also in Bad Vöslau. He spent the years 1846-1847 in Rome, later traveled to Holland and Iceland, and from 1852-1853 also to North and South America. From 1842, he regularly showed his works at exhibitions of the Vienna Academy. From 1861 he was a member of the Viennese artists' association, the Künstlerhausen.
